UDS Data Mapper
Frequently Asked Questions
Account & Login Issues
Who can use the UDS Data Mapper? How do I get an account?
The UDS Data Mapper is accessible to both liquidator and guaranty fund users. You can request an account by clicking ‘Register a New User’ from the top of the Data Mapper home page.
Can more than one person share login credentials for the UDS Data Mapper?
No, each user should have their own account for the UDS Data Mapper, however, your send queue will be linked across your organization.
How do I change my password?
If you’ve forgotten your password you can request a password reset by clicking ‘Password Reset’ from the top of the Data Mapper home page.
Uploading Files
What is the difference between Secure UDS (SUDS) and DataMapper?
The main difference to note is that SUDS is accessed via an SFTP program installed on your computer (such as WinSCP, Filezilla, etc) whereas the DataMapper is accessed via an internet browser at mapper.guarantysupport.com
Why is my uploaded file appearing as an empty file?
If you’ve uploaded a file to the Data Mapper and it’s appearing as an empty file, it’s likely that your IP address is not properly whitelisted in our system. Contact support@guarantysupportinc.com to fix this issue.
Working with Maps
Do I need to map to all of the provided fields?
No, as long as your file contains all the fields in red, you are not required to provide values for the rest of the optional fields.
Working with Batches
My fund mistakenly received UDS files for claims that belong to a different state. What should I do?
First, contact the Receiver and the desired destination fund to explain the situation. The Receiver should be notified before doing any transfer, and the receiving fund should be aware that the transfer is happening.
There are two options for getting the records to their correct destination:
-
- Utilize the Transfer feature of the UDS Data Mapper to change the destination and send the records where they belong.
- Ask the Receiver to re-send the batch through the UDS Data Mapper with the correct location codes.
In either case, the files that were received in error should be immediately deleted.
Can I recall a batch that has already been sent? What happens?
From the ‘Sent Records’ page you can select any number of batches and click the ‘recall’ button at the bottom of the page. This WILL delete the records and notify the recipients that the batch has been recalled via email.
How can I mark a batch as unsent? What does it do?
From the ‘Sent Records’ page you can select any number of batches and click the ‘unsend’ button at the bottom of the page. This will NOT delete the records but rather return them to the ‘Send Records’ queue.
Can I delete a batch?
Yes, you can delete an unsent batch by selecting the batch from the ‘Send Records’ queue and clicking the dropdown to switch from ‘Send’ to ‘Delete’.
If you have already sent the batch, you can also utilize the recall feature.
