Uniform Data Standard (UDS)
What is UDS?
UDSÂ is a file format specification that allows receivers, liquidators, and guaranty associations to exchange insolvency-related claims and financial data to receivers electronically.

Where did it come from?
UDS originated in 1990 when the NCIGF, guaranty associations, and receivers established the NAIC UDS Technical Support Group (TSG) and the UDS Financial Technical Support Group (FTSG). These groups, consisting of claims, IT, and financial professionals from the receiver and guaranty fund communities, developed
UDS and promoted its acceptance and use across the insurance resolution community.
